Greenock west esplanade - and Dumbarton Rock evening 9/02/09

A navy boat on trial, a couple of very fast inflatable launches, and then
the evening journey, when I just missed catching a freighter wending down
river in deep dusk.
I tried to get some hand held shots but it's pretty well useless on slow
shutter (need tripod and auto release button!) - so I just had to try and be
creative!

Dumbarton Rock and Ben Lomond 3.20 p.m. 090206

A beautiful light this afternoon, and 5 minutes taken whilst on the way to
an appointment.
A wee bit of licence in editing....

On the west (left) side of the hill the 'lump' is the Ptarmigan Hill, and by
far the best way onto the mountain - though at this time of year the western
face gets no heat from the Sun and the rocky outcrops are sometimes very
difficult to pass with verglas (thin black ice, really bound onto the rocks
and very smooth).
Oh, to be on the top with views to die for...err, not literally!!
