The QE2 at Greenock last time, 5/10/08 about midday
Saturday. There were French and UK navy boats in, and the flotilla of small
craft and sightseeing boats out doing their stuff...what a brilliant day on
the water.
The workhorses were there putting her into the Ocean Terminal, and it amazed
me that they actually put her over as they shoved and tugged.
Just a brilliant couple of hours and rather better weather than for Her
visit over to The Bridges at the Forth.
So, She's off to Dubai to be an Hotel!
The Queen Mary 2 is due to Greenock next October I have read. I believe it's
a goodly lot bigger than QE2 and maybe therefore not so likely to be as
slender and attractive. The QE2's stats are well worth looking for ...MEGA
miles and still capable of cruising at about 25 knots, maxing at about 30
(or 32).....
