Kilpatricks evening 17th June 2010

Wonderful way to get towards the end of a week...Thursday evening before
going home for tea.

Up the stoney path, from stifling still air, to the wonderful singing
breezes of the slopes and tops... towards the green and yellow moorland and
azure blue lochs.....
Far up on the flats there is the cotton grass...the most evocative moorland
sight for me along with curlew and oyster catcher cries, and the spiraling,
uplifting melodies of the skylarks...up there 'somewhere'..! Man's
intervention too, by the calling of errant lambs wondering where mum is.

Youthful intervention as well, I guess, in terms of careless pollution by
fire-setting on the tinder dry banks by their drinking dens, reservoir
side.....
I was a bit smoked too by the time I got through the wind-blown reek!

Great views over towards the Whangie; over towards Dumgoyne; over towards
Loch Lomond and the northern and western hills (Stuc a Chroin, Ben Vorlich,
Ben Ledi, An Caisteal, Ben More, Stobinian, Ben Lui, Ben Oss, and the
Arrochar Alps...stunning scenes..unbeatable for access and inspiration.
Uplifted again.

Regards, Denis.
