The FIRST of April....
On the industrial estate pond, the cob (male) was none too keen on his
offspring hanging around and this pattern of intimidation lasted for a
several weeks, until he drove off the youngster. The impending 'coming into
season' of the pen (female) was stirring the hormones and aggression of the
big male and he was intent on banishing the beautiful, bashful and miffed
youngster, to another territory.

An interesting twist of 'harsh nature' but understandable all the same. I
believe that the same pair have been on the pond for 15 + years, every year.
Kind regards, Denis.
