Scotland mostly - through nsl4u

On a beautiful crisp Winter's morn, around the stubble fields expecting and
fulfilling the notion of seeing the resident deer families...and a few
surprises.
Of course the wee man was all over the place, and doing a few wee acrobatics
jumping for snowballs.
With deer always being so alert and skittish, it was a mega surprise to see
the doe in the long grass with her yearling....we were within about 20 or 25
metres.
This does just not happen...I think the youngster maybe was sleeping or
possibly Ill.... but they did stir.....
She kept her eye on Bailey, but was not overly phased. They do tolerate for
a while until they suss out what's what......then usually off to a safe
distance......
for them it's simple being about 70 metres away - typically after dropping
into a hollow and making easy ground, appearing quite a way off from where
you expect them to surface again....
They know how to use the contours to confuse and 'disappear' whilst making
big ground .......

The Campsies, as usual, can prove a magic back-cloth and on Sunday, the
drifting cloud and strengthening rising sun gave a few magical glimpses.

What a day to enjoy!
