Scotland mostly - through nsl4u

Whilst out on a round trip walk on the Southern Upland Way...managed to get
all these pretties on the pathway margins...lost of bumble bee types, but NO
standard honey bees. Some butterflies are so wary and just don't stay
still....others are perfect poseurs! The fly 'insects' seem to be far more
docile.....maybe drugged up with all that pollen?
It also interests me to see several 'fly' varieties in close
proximity...sometimes I'd see about half a dozen on a single flower 'head'
along with a bee. Rarely are several bees on any one head...giving each
other room to get on to cross-pollinate - nature is so clever!

In Moffat I got some good ones of the cabbage white butterfly (on
nasturtium, in a large hanging basket), and they can often be hard to get,
so wary and so flighty....

I'm also seriously amazed at how fast butterflies can travel.....have you
noticed that, even without breezes? They are too very 'flower specific'.
