Lennoxtown woods looking south and northwards mostly - evening 8/07/09
stunning clarity towards the distance and rain. The turbines hauled into
view by zoom, on the moors south of Giffnock heights. The lump slightly
south east is Tinto Hill ( 'Faerie hill' by mystery and lore) ...well worth
a nice walk some day. It's the hill runners last race of the year often,
early November.
The light north was also stunningly different -- and casting some glow onto
the Campsie Fells towards Dumgoyne.
I tried to get diffraction of light on the edge of the trigonometrical point
( http://ww2010.atmos.uiuc.edu/(Gh)/guides/mtr/opt/mch/diff.rxml )
but not quite sharp enough..?
As it happened the threatening rain bursts came in with a vengeance and it
was a pretty miserable 15 minutes under a heavily canopied beech hedge -
Thankyou very, VERY much!! Otherwise it was certain drooking, with us
quite unprepared!!
