Moorland pasture at the edge of Lennoxtown forest south-side - lambs are
always fun to watch - the 'joys of Spring'!
A few sturdy cattle coming down off Mealybrae track towards Balmore policy
(this is an ancient link road (horse and cart track) and at one time must
have been used to haul farm produce and especially corn for meal making over
the hill to ...? - the track is seriously dilapidated due to a ditch being
allowed to fill, then the water-wash down the hill had ripped all the
surface tie-stones out. Meantime the Council try to invent new (probably
softer, easier, cheaper solutions to fulfill 'public need for
exercise'..!!).
Balmore policy has wonderfully grand and mature trees of a wide variety and
under the canopy gets it's carpet of wild and not-so-wild flora.
Along the flats on the Kelvin floodplain towards Cadder, I caught pics of
this wonderfully cheeky yellowhammer ...bounce, bounce, bounce along the
hedgerow in front of us, singing all the while!

Cattle again down at the River Kelvin below the levee...easy going, not too
fussed by us walking through the middle of them...

Fresh air and exercise..that'll do nicely with things to notice in nature
and the productive land...Br, Denis.
