At Chatelherault 17/02/09
generally being 'wild' in the natural way!
Chatelherault parkland is a great area as I've mentioned before, and quite
spectacular in many aspects. The only thing that spoils it for me is the
litter, and the discarded 'dog-poo plastic bags'...why do people do that,
who purport to be good citizens, and 'dog lovers' (it's the whole thing
isn't it!).
I decided to see how confident he'd be at following me along the fallen tree
trunk...he had tons of it, and it was really no bother at all...rather less
wobbly then me!
Of course the river is always fun, and he just loves it.... no fear - loves
to stand in it up to his belly, though also a very strong swimmer too.
Sticks and carrying are synonymous of course. As he's got stronger too, he
leaps very good heights and is confident to jump up to a landing spot if he
trusts you....I do lift him occasionally, and this he's not so keen on...a
bit too far maybe?
There are the ancient oaks too, I cannot remember the name of them (but
they'll be on a website if you care to search) however I do recall they are
in excess of 400 years old...just think about that...the history, the
events, the great achievements, the man-made disasters, and wars....
Finally when back at the car a good few skein of geese flew over with their
exhorting honking ..keep going, keep going, keep going...
A fine, fresh and airy day...
Kind regards, Denis.
