By the River Mole and then Horley pub
A great thing about a new district (to 'you') is that there's so much to see and learn about.
We had a good long walk down the RoWs and along the diverted Mole watercourse...The dub was good for Ollie and a bruiser choc lab...the big boy bounded in 3 or 4 strides that which the wee man has to swim through!
Along the bank the foxes were blatantly sunning themselves and quite bonny beasts.
The refreshment bit was great and gave me chance to play bonkers conkers with beers!
The 'stone' is chalk covered flint.... It's a fascinating material...arrer heads and all that!
Lastly, I'm reading William Cobbett's 'Rural Rides' and just the other night he mentioned the R Mole on his ride Reigate, 20th October 1825, but this is not the same as he saw-- this bit has been diverted due to Gatwick airport necessity!
