Bumbler Bees at Mugdock 30/09/07
when you get close; I find the Orange bums most alert and least willing to
stay out..how inconvenient. They are also just about the prettiest in my
opinion, though the Red bums are stunning too (not so very common and ground
nesting).
There have not been so many at all this year, though this was a good day on
the grassy moor...I hope the mites that were reportedly killing off hives
have not done mega long lasting damage - we need the pollinators!
