Scotland mostly - through nsl4u

                               
On a super Autumn morning Mary and I met Graham, and walked the Ben Venue trail, through beautiful woodlands and up beside the bubbling burn which is spectacular over it's small cataracts and water shutes.
It was a claggy day throughout the walk but typically, you'll often get glimpses of what's beyond the mirk through little gaps as the wind scuttles through and blows the clag clear.

This report really comes in 3 parts to cover 'going up', at 'the top and descending', then the journey home as the day really settled and great views developed over the north Campsie face and South to West.
The fullest autumnal colours have not yet developed in these pics but this last 2-3 weeks have brought the oranges and browns to a new intensity which decent light can really develop.

This is a superb walk of about 8 miles and a well trod trail through great variety and rises gently to the double hill summits (worth taking both in, in a wee detour, but we didn't, due to the clag and unpromised views). There were 9 others on the hills too - I think we were rewarded well for our efforts.
